Engen Books is proud and honored to announce our first 2021 reveal: 'Bifocal: Curious Tales & Their Reflections' by Andrew Peacock, with art by the astonishing Kaleigh Middelkoop.

Andrew Peacock is an award-winning author born in Toronto and raised in Northern Ontario. A lifelong creative, his first book 'Creatures of the Rock' was long-listed for the 2015 Leacock Medal for humour and won the Newfoundland and Labrador Book Award for the best non-fiction book in 2014. He currently lives in Freshwater with his wife, Ingrid, and dog, Charlotte. His second book, 'One Brave Boy and His Cat,' was released by Flanker Press in 2019. He worked in a mixed animal veterinary practice in rural Newfoundland from 1982 until 2010.

Kaleigh Middelkoop is an amazing artist and photographer who primarily uses self portraiture as a means to tell stories and express ideas with the aid of costumes and props she makes by hand. Heavily influenced by fairy tales and the slightly strange, her work has surreal and magical elements woven throughout. Kaleigh is a featured artist at Bellazo in downtown Wabash, IN as well as Ocean View Art Gallery in Carbonear, NL.

'Bifocal: Curious Tales & Their Reflections' is a collection of short fiction by Peacock, with accompanying images by Middelkoop. It examines the human condition and imagination, and is a must have for any collection.
