Engen Books brings its unique voice on Newfoundland and Labrador culture to non-fiction, shining light on the areas of the province's history that have been left unpublished for too long.

The first books published in the line included academic essays. The line has gone on to produce It's Just Politics by Sonia B. Glover,  A Queer History of Newfoundland by Rhea Rollmann,and Off Panel: A History of NL Comix by Elizabeth Whitten.
