After much deliberation, Engen Books is proud to announce the winner of the March 2021 Kit Sora Flash Fiction Photography Contest: Dani West with the story, Ascent!
A down-to-earth girl with her head up in the clouds and a touch of wonderlust. Dani West grew up in Lorneville, NB just outside of the City of Saint John. Her short story, Home is Where the Heart Is debuted in Engen's Mythology from the Rock, and her poem Lament for a City, will be released later this year in Partridge Island Publishing's Secrets in the Fog.
We had two judges for this contest:

Drew Power is a currently seated member of the Sci-Fi on the Rock committee. He was recently featured as the model on the cover of the bestselling collection Chillers from the Rock.
Matthew LeDrew. The author of over 25 novels, and the founder of Engen Books.
Runners up include The Diver by Karin Murray-Bergquist, and Circuit Breaker by Colleen Anderson.
